
The cultivated Blue Foot mushroom, with it’s dramatic blue hue is cultivated in France. Shipments arrive in our warehouse twice a week ensuring the freshest product possible. Blue Foot’s are the cultivated version of the wild Blewit Mushroom, which are found in varying amounts in all different parts of North America. The flavor is deeply fungal with an earthy brightness. The texture is truly remarkable; they are crunchy & firm without being overly dense. They are excellent with rich sauces & pair perfectly with any type of meat, poultry & game.
HOW TO STORE & HANDLE WILD MUSHROOMS
Wild Mushrooms should be kept in the refrigerator in a paper bag
Wild Mushrooms should be cleaned, preferably without water but rather with a pairing knife
Wild Mushrooms typically last for up to 7 days in the refrigerator, but are best consumed in the first 3 days
It is not uncommon to find the occasional bug on a Wild Mushroom, simply wipe it off and know that the mushroom is still perfectly safe and delicious to eat
If the mushrooms you receive are a little bit damp, feel free to air dry them in the refrigerator for a couple of hours
