Palmito another name for hearts of palm, are a favorite of some of the country's top Chefs. Mikuni brings in fresh Hearts of Palm twice per week from our farmer in Hawaii. The vegetable has a pale straw color, and a tender, delicate flavor, similar to a mild Artichoke or Coconut. When fresh, it is crisp and crunchy, and is excellent mixed in salads or prepared with seafood. The most prized section of the vegetable is the core, which is especially sweet and tender.
